AUDIO LOGIC MT66
Audio Logic's MT66 model is a dual audio compressor/limiter. It can
be operated in stereo mode with the "Link" switch.
This device must be the worst 19-inch format compressor ever
marketed. Admittedly, I've never heard the Alesis 3630 but I doubt
that it could be worse.
GATE
The gate has too much hysteresis. Here are some measurements I made
with a 1 kHz signal :
Gate Turn on Turn off
setting point (mV) point (mV)
1 8.2 never
2 18 never
3 33 never
4 59 never
5 90 43
6 130 100
7 164 142
8 186 172
9 202 194
10 210 206
SCHEMATICS
Don't trust these schematics blindly, they're obviously not original
schematics but were drawn by me from an actual unit. Caveat emptor !
The source was device S/N 52434, manufactured in 1986. The PCB bears
the mention "Rev. B".
mt66_schem_4.tif and mt66_schem_5.tif are smaller than the others.
This is not an error.
